Dr. Gurpal Buttar is a Canadian board certified periodontist and Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.  He received a Bachelor of Science at UBC where he majored in Cell Biology and Genetics.  After leaving UBC, he went to dental school at the University of Manitoba where he graduated with the highest standing over the four-year program.  He then moved to Montreal to do a 1-year residency at the Jewish General Hospital (McGill).  Following his residency, he remained in Montreal working as a general dentist for 2 years as his wife Caroline, finished her graduate training in Pediatric Dentistry.  They then moved to Winnipeg, where he completed his 3-year graduate program in Periodontics.

Gurpal grew up in Penticton and loves that he lives and works in such a beautiful area along with his family. He and his wife, Caroline, have two children, Zoe and Will, along with a friendly poodle mix, Sam. He enjoys running with the dog, skiing, tennis, and spending time with his family.  

Gurpal is proud to have been providing comprehensive periodontal and implant care in a warm and friendly environment at South Okangan Perio since 2013.
